The entire 1st street heading south especially is a treat that you have to see to believe. Just a block away or so you will find the Seattle Art Museum  and it is well, well worth the time to view the exhibits there. You won’t be able to miss the museum as there is a 3 to 4 story rust brown colored metal sculpture at the very front of the building.

If it’s Island hoping you are after then take the ferry to the Island chains that dot the Ocean area seascape. At or near the end of the line of tiny Islands (I don’t recall, it’s been a while) is an Island called Orcas Island. I woke one morning there very early (I don’t know, just couldn’t sleep) and walked out front of the hotel to find deer happily munching on apples that had fallen from the tree in the front of the yard there.
